19 to find out for sure, but I'm hopeful that Google's Pixel 6 has the potential to be the 2021 phone heavyweight I've been waiting for. 

The Pixel's market share is minuscule compared to that of Apple's iPhones. But now it looks like Google is doing things we've been waiting years for.

More mesh routers that support Wi-Fi 6E, which means they can access a newly unlocked mass of bandwidth in the 6GHz band, should be arriving in the coming months, too.

Specs aside, maybe I'm more excited by Pixel this year because Apple has crossed that threshold where greatness is expected, if not guaranteed. Or maybe it's the fact that the iPhone and iOS already had an overhaul in 2017 with the iPhone X, while Pixel's transformation is long overdue.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai previously said during an Alphabet earnings call that the fall lineup of devices will show Google's "deep technology investments." The company has since confirmed that the Pixel 6 line will be powered by the company's in-house Tensor chip, previously code-named Whitechapel.

Google, meanwhile, still has a lot to prove in the smartphone arena. The Tensor chip's introduction also came with demonstrations of its photography and dictation prowess, which will take the spotlight with the new Pixel phones.

Instagram said Wednesday that it's releasing a way for users to translate text in Stories, a feature that lets people post content that vanishes in 24 hours.

The Korea Times reports that the owner of the number had so many calls and texts day and night asking to join the game that the phone battery kept dying. 

The production team apparently used a real phone number, reportedly thinking that if they left off the area code, it would be fine.

We'll have to hang on until Oct. We've still got lots of routers and mesh systems we'd like to try out -- including a growing number that use Wi-Fi 6 technology promising better performance and faster speeds.
