With the emergence of IPv6 which not only supports more IP addresses, but also support for mobile nodes, as well as data security on IP level, availability and security are covered. To cover the increasing demand for high-speed connections, optical fiber connections are being used not only for regular internet, but it can also be used for transmitting TV signals, making it possible to send HDTV content over an optical fiber line. Wireless connections are still much slower though, so it is expected that HDTV can’t be transmitted over a wireless connection before 2015.
