What is the role of fashion with mobile technology?

According to [1]: "The results support the perspective that ‘fashion’ plays a significant role in mobile phone adoption and usage behavior among the US and Japanese youths."

The form factor of mobile technology will become less dominated by the technology itself and thus allows fashion to play an increasing role.
