Description

Because of the widely use of PC, mobile and internet, users are more willing to try new media to get information and for entertainment.

Enablers

  • Higher mobility: Nowadays, people like travelling or need to travel to different cities and countries.Laptop and mobile are more convenient for those who travel a lot to watch programs or movies on their way;
  • Better technological solutions:high speed broadband, user-friendly software which can offer more interactive service make the experience more exciting. Some software can be used to record, edit the program;
  • More controlable by the users: users can stop or start a program at any time;
  • Break the geographical boundary: more programs from different countries and culture can be reached nowadays;

Inhabitors

  • Rules for copy rights, knowledge properties and other issues are still not ready enough to provide all programs and information that TV is offering on Internet;
  • digital gap: people in many poverty-stricken areas can still not have a television not to say the internet or PC, it blocks the diffusion of these new media;
  • Large broadcasting networks are steadlily holding their power of informaiton distribution and value chain in TV industry to protect them from Internet.

Paradigms

The development of IT leads to more freedom and flexibility for users to choose the way they like to get information or for entertainment. The advantages of these new media contribution to quicker users adoption, then quicker users adoption contributes to the boost of internet TV and mobile TV.
