According to Aart the oil producing countries (mostlt OPEC) do not have a big interest in decreasing the gloabal warming. They are afraid of that GHG reduction goals affect the sales of their main product. Also they have not been affected on a bigger scale of a natural catastrophe. So they are currently one of the main powers slowing down the negotiations about the climate.
The following article gives a nice example of how these countries argument to be compensated for probable losses of selling less oil if the world decides to reduce the emission of GHG:
