The term Modular applications is not well defined. For this scenario a modular application is understood to be an application which can be bought/acquired through combining smaller components. These components may be bought, loaded, or even developed by the user.

One of the risks of allowing users to download/develop modules for the mobile device are viruses and worms [1].
