What are the disadvantages of mashups?

The main disadvantages of mash ups are that they cannot be used for commercial purposes, and they are strictly non-profit.
Due to copyright and privacy laws there is a limit to the material that can be used to compile a mash up.
Those that are well conceived, can succeed, 90% will fail.
At present, most API’s are low quality, causing mashup quality to suffer.
