Description:

The fact that the Internet is, or is rapidly becoming, the life blood of global communication accessible 24/7 both via fixed and mobile technology

Enablers:

- Wi-Fi - Wi-Max - G3 - substantially lower costs than other media (skype telehony for example is free for users) - cheap cost per bit stored / bit sent - sensor world (RFID) - need for connectibility

Inhibitors:

- land morphology - reversal in current trend possibly caused by sabotage or virus - backlash against modernisation
