Technology innovation

Although new technology innovation will give extremely challenge to traditional newspapers companies, there are also Opportunities as well. Some innovations may threaten the business (twitter, blogs), and other may create opportunities to generate revenues. For examples, online and mobile news (advertising) technologies. Or PDA-powered newspaper delivery systems, which assist carriers in making newspaper deliveries more efficiently, and which enable the delivery of more publications to targeted audiences. E-papers can add a whole new dimension to newspapers and make it more interactive. And further, don’t forget the "web 2.0", which could determine the survival of the news industry. Will the media world exploit innovations the right way? What kind new Innovations for Newspapers will we experience in the future? Will it be innovative enough to overcome the free content on the internet?

<centre>“Technical innovations will change the future of newspapers. Computers and mobile handsets double their capacity every nine months. This allows media companies to continuously introduce new and improved services. New technical innovations and improvements also drive change in human behaviour. Today, teens must be connected to their friends at all times. Their technical devices become part of their personal identity. As a result, teens carry a potential distribution channel for news and entertainment with them at all times.”</centre> Stig Eide Sivertsen
