Shanghai Telecom Co. has unveiled a wholly invested unit to make a fray into the online gaming business, the Shanghai Morning Post reported. The company also announced that the first game it will deputize is in testing. The new unit indicates Shanghai Telecom's key expansion of business from telecom operation to game content, industry analysts said, adding it will help boost its revenue sources as well. Earlier, Shanghai Telecom handled the game sector only in supportive services as in providing broadband access, platforms and servers to game operators.
