In this scenario for the bottom-up Internet the average user of the Internet will decide the future.

2006/2007 The web gets a wireless speed boost

Within the next two years WiMAX will get more promotion than traditional WiFi. New wireless devices are being build with WiMAX network adapters. This availability will stimulate new wireless networks (like wireless Leiden and Seattle) being build. Wireless devices will become more powerful and offer better Internet support and usability.

2008/2009 Wireless; available and reliable!

Higher speed, more powerful wireless devices and high availability of open wireless networks lead to the offering of new wireless services. P2P mobile calling is taking of only stimulating the sales of mobile devices and further development of wireless network. Wireless networks are becoming as fast and reliable as wired connections. This lead to that home users are starting to replace wired connections for wireless and even the most remote locations of the world have now access to the Internet.

2010: Services, services, services

With fast Internet available everywhere and new handy devices people are starting to use them everywhere as well. E-commerce realizes that this increases the amount of possible customers a day as well and are offering more extensive and location based services. With more and more e-commerce businesses taking of the way in which they approach the customer and the level of user friendliness is the way to survive.

2011: Staying alive

To drop costs of running a business and remain a player in the e-business virtual organizations are starting to emerge; organizations are starting to spread data and information that isn’t hosted by them but delivering relies on web 2.0 services.

201x: Together we control the business

By now everyone on the net has got some on-line shopping experience or used other methods of doing business on-line. These experiences are being widely spread and at such a speed that a single bad experience can have a huge effect on the reputation of the e-business.
