The drive for World Unification is embodied by the increasing cooperation and dependency between governments. Unification can potentially lead to a single council representing everybody with certain jurisdictions and responsibilities. The amount of cooperation, dependency responsibilities and power of such a body can be used a benchmark to measure the unification ratio.
With the Paris agreement and COP 27, the world is moving towards a sustainable, more resilient, and zero-carbon world. Countries have started to  translate national commitments into credible policies, while every sector is undergoing an exponential transformation. Also, with increasing engagement due to effective communication, there is clear public support for a green recovery. People are in support of policies that are providing cleaner air; a sustainable transition for their children; and the protection of nature that in turn protects their health, homes, and livelihoods.

The only good thing that came out of WWII was the institutionalization of common European government bodies to regulate coal and steel, the pre-requisites for building war equipement. Gradually this initiative evolved into a cooperative body (the EU) in which European countries got more and more dependant on each other. After agreeing upon a shared currency, common legislations and milititairy initiatives are the next steps.

Even between Europeans we are reluctant to fully integrate with each other. Imagine how long it will take to integrate seperate parts of the world, and have them cooperate to the extent of the EU. Probably humanity will be ready after WWIII.
Collaboration momentum is created but actual results of global-scale initiatives are not tangible enough. Global leaders are coming together to create a major impact on global transition by implementing policies at the national level. these efforts can be better managed and coordinated sure to increase communication and goal tracking systems. Another big issue is an investment in steps towards energy transition, which can be effective if planned strategically considering national and global factors.

Description:

With the Paris agreement and COP 27, the world is moving towards a sustainable, more resilient, and zero-carbon world. Countries have started to translate national commitments into credible policies, while every sector is undergoing an exponential transformation. Also, with increasing engagement due to effective communication, there is clear public support for a green recovery. People are in support of policies that are providing cleaner air; a sustainable transition for their children; and the protection of nature that in turn protects their health, homes, and livelihoods.

Enablers:

  • Globalization and communication
  • Tangible goals and strategies put in place to achieve net-zero
  • International Organizations & Summits: Paris agreement, COP27, United Nations (UN), World Trade Organization (WTO), European Union etc.

Inhibitors

  • Oil industry pressure to affect drastic policies shift in the energy transition
  • Policy building and execution in isolation, not collaborating with countries to solve a global issue
  • Balance of Power: Influential nations are very reluctant to give away their resources
  • Hard to manage and coordinate and most important, track.

Paradigms:

Collaboration momentum is created but actual results of global-scale initiatives are not tangible enough. Global leaders are coming together to create a major impact on global transition by implementing policies at the national level. these efforts can be better managed and coordinated sure to increase communication and goal tracking systems. Another big issue is an investment in steps towards energy transition, which can be effective if planned strategically considering national and global factors.

Timing:

Starting now till end of decade : till 2030
