Description:

The energy system is such a massive matter that it cannot be solved by any stand-alone organizations (whether governmental or business). Instead, collaboration or partnership, especially within the business sector, is fundamental to foster big initiatives, game-changing innovation, end-to-end systematic solutions, fast scale-ups... There are already various strategic groups and alliances regionally and globally, such as "Global Alliance for Sustainable Energy" in September 2021 (consisting of "17 founding members including utilities and global players in the solar PV and wind value chains, sector associations and innovation partners"), the American Petroleum Institute, or the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance. And this trend will continue.

Enablers:

1. The rising awareness and urgency of sustainability 2. The need to scale of solutions faster and to build insfrastructure 3. The need for end-to-end solutions 4. SDG 17

Inhibitors:

1. The tragedy of the commons 2. Friedman doctrine‐ The Social Responsibility Of Business Is to Increase Its Profits 3. Potential conflicts of interests between participating actors

Paradigms:

Faster scale-up and infrastructure, end-to-end solutions, bigger and bolder initiatives, etc. This will facilitate changes in policymaking and faster and more efficient adoption of the energy system.

Experts:

1. Engineers 2. C-suit executives in businesses in the energy sector
