Description:

The upcoming shortage of (para-)medical professionals will lead to a restricted availability of hospital care. This can e.g. lead to ‘post-code healthcare’ (redistribution of care to those who can affort it) or to an evenly distributed shortage

Enablers:

• The increasing number of medical specialists that are working part-time
• Increasing demand for specialistic diagnosis/care
• Backlog in investments in hospitals
• Higher demands for quality hospital care

Inhibitors:

• Better planning of education and training new specialists
• New technological developments are less labour-intensive/ need less human interference
• Lower demand

Paradigms:

• Personal care is neccesary
• Increasing morbidity in (double) aging population

Experts:

• NN
