The continuing growth of advanced digital communication technology provides many possibilities for free communication for people anywhere, anytime. Digital television is emerging all over the world, and is becoming increasingly more available on the Internet, increasing transborder information flow. Because of the growing demand, new standards for a global telecommunications infrastructure (of which IDTV is one), as well as international copyright laws and world trade agreements will be necessary. This contributes to globalization.
